About Me

My photo
I am a daughter caring for elderly parents. I am a sister who is extremely proud of her brother and sister. I am an aunt who loves my nieces more than I ever thought I could love anyone. I am a "no-problem" friend. I am the smiling face at the front desk, greeting everyone in a positive manner. I hopefully encourage people to find joy and peace in the midst of adversity. I am a responsible member of my community. I am told I sometimes look at the world through rose-colored glasses. Red is my favorite color. :) I am happy to be nappy! There's nothing better than a nice bubble bath, unless there's pumpkin cheesecake waiting for me when I get out. :) I know the Source of my supply. I am grateful.

Chipping Away To Create a Masterpiece

Well, it's January and I know for certain that most people you know have made one or several New Year's resolutions. I am also one of those courageous people seeking to make significant positive change.  But I think where we fall short is we bit off a little more than we can chew.  Making a resolution to stick with something for 365 days, whew!

Well, while listening to one of my favorite afternoon drive time talk show, hosted by Ramona Prater, The F Club (1200 AM), Ramona gave us some wonderful advice.  She offered that instead trying to do something for a year, break it down to 30, 60 or 90 days.  On a physical level, an artist painstakingly creates fabulous sculpture, one strike of the chisel at a time.  On a spiritual level, if I take baby steps, I know I will maximize my chances of being successful.

So now instead of New Year's Resolutions, I will make New MONTH's Resolutions.  Self-improvement 30 days at a time! That, I can do :)

For the next six months...
January - healthy eating
February - more exercise (I'm going to be blessed with a treadmill)
March - nuture myself, prepare for blossoming in the Spring
April - spend more time with Family and Friends
May - spend more time in Nature and Meditation
June - 29 days of gift giving

All Hail the Queen :)
